Picking up where I left off last weekend with the 'spring has sprung' collection - swipe right 👉 to see what the next steps for putting a collection together looks like.
First up, I do an initial sand with my Dremel tool to clean up the edges, removing any smudging made when cutting the slab (ignore the clay dust under my finger nails in those photos!). Following this, I do a second sand using my PolyFast sanding tool (love this thing!), which allows me to achieve a silky smooth finish to all my pieces.
Once I'm happy with the finish of each piece, I then use a hand drill to make the required holes. I prefer my hand drill when working on detailed slabs like this one, as I feel it gives me greater control.
From there, I slightly rough up the backs of the pieces where I'll be sticking the earring posts, to ensure the strongest hold possible.
And then onto my favourite part - putting all the pieces together!! Next weekend I'll finish puttting the final pieces together, and then photographing, carding and uploading this collection to my Etsy store.
But of course, if anything takes your fancy before then, feel free to send me a DM to claim your favourite!
