“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason.
I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me.
Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go.
Reality doesn’t impress me.
I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another.
No more walls.” Anaïs Ninn
Our unconscious and subconscious is 95-97% of our brains. Beginning when we are children, we program this 95% from the stories and actions of the culture around us. This then builds our automatic responses in our conscious mind that is (at most) 5% of our brain.
Much of this program we write is beneficial and helps us navigate the world. It can help us identify potential risks, it is connected to our intuition, it frames understandings of friends and allies and it functions our immune and autonomic nervous system.
Other types of conditioning is detrimental, including the indoctrination of racism, physical or emotional trauma that can create repeated family patterns of abuse, self-doubt or loathing from childhood bullying, anxiety or stress that is triggered from pain of the past, or from the negative allegiances we carry from our ancestors pain.
The programming we carry from our family, friends, society, or from our past-lifetime and epigenetic selves is often the source of our pain. We need to look at what values we individually and collectively carry and want to nourish, to continue instilling in our children, and will propel us all into greater collective peace and prosperity and we must identify the old paradigms ready to be shifted to have a greater sense of peace and empowerment individually and collectively.
It’s never too late to break down walls and build roads instead. Hypnotherapy and working with plant medicine has been the greatest aid I have found to do this.
