🦀🦀Crabs in the river Thames are ingesting shocking amounts of plastic with in excess of 100 synthetic fibres in some crabs, according to researchers!👆🏼
And apparently what is particularly shocking is not only are they filling the stomach but they can be made up of over 100 fibres [in each crab], so they are very highly contaminated ☹️
Almost all of the 55 shore crabs and 37 mitten crabs dissected by experts had plastic inside their stomachs, intestine or gills!! 💔💔
Think. Before you add to the problem!

Did you know that over 70% of beauty waste goes straight to the landfill? Even if you throw it in the recycling bin — not on our watch! We're thrilled to celebrate our 1 YEAR Anniversary with our friends at @terracycle ! ♻️ Thank you for helping us reduce our footprint last year, and cheers to many more low-waste years. Visit our spas to drop off your Savor Beauty products and get gifts for being mindful. ❤️
How is it possible that an uninhabited island such as Bangkaru is full of trash?🏝️🚮
At the moment in our oceans are over 270 million tons of plastic.. and every year 8 million tons add up..🌊
We need to change something! Animals are suffering through our individual actions. Let's make every choice consciously and buy products that help the planet 🌏
The rangers from @haka _sumatra and @bksdaaceh do clean ups on Bangkaru once a week to protect the endangered sea turtles from entanglement and diguestion of plastic. 🐢
Say NO to Single Used Plastic! #beatplasticpollution

@purecleanearth created a trash art installation out of 106.000 bottle caps to raise awareness about plastic pollution 🚮
Over 8 million tons of plastics wind up in the ocean each year that's like dumping the contents of a garbage truck into marine waters every minute. 🚚🌊
This trash, be it bottle caps or anything else can be very harmful for the environment and for animals. When animals find plastic, they can mistake it for food and eat it. They can also get entangled which leads often to heavy injury and sometimes death.. 🐟
Our cause @purecleanearth cleans up trash, educates and unites people for super fun and inspiring events to protect the planet 🌏

Lamination Alternative 🌎🌍🌏
Any other educators using Seesaw? I LOVE helping my students build a digital portfolio, and it is a great way to keep parents in touch with what we are doing in the classroom. This QR code will be good for the entire year, so I dropped it into a plastic sleeve instead of laminating it. Another option would have been putting it on cardboard backing, but I already have loads of these plastic sleeves in my classroom. How are you avoiding laminating your resources?
Please tune in to @kcet tonight at 8PM PDT to watch some awesome environmental activists and advocates shed light on the dumpster fire that is plastic here in California. Several environmental rockstars are featured, like Heidi Sanborn from the California Product Stewardship Council, Amy Hammes from the City of Burbank, and Morey Wolfson, who is my colleague on the Pasadena Environmental Advisory Commission.

Looking forward to this expose on the foam industry. Many of our friends are being interviewed. Don't miss it!
Much of what your told to recycle may actually not be recyclable and end up in landfills. California is drowning in plastic and manufacturers are spending millions to keep their products on the shelves. Tune in Oct. 15 at 8:00 p.m. for a NEW #SoCalConnected investigation which takes a look at California's recycling ♻️ woes. #SCC1001@kcet#saynotosingleuse#saynotosingleuseplastic#zerowaste#recycling#saynotofoam#makelesswaste#trashisfortossers
